==================================================
One of the things I love most about running my own business is that I get to decide what I wanna do and how I wanna do it.
Now of course I always want to make sure that what I'm doing is in line with where my business is going and the values that I hold.
And one of my values is around collaboration.
Even though life and work can feel lonely at times, none of us are ever truly in this alone. So I thought it would be fun to talk about what makes for kick ass collaborations and I did that by doing something a little different.
In this episode, I interview three different people that I collaborate with to make my life and my work happen. And really, they make my work and life better. My podcast manager Rachael Sanya, my GYST Community Coordinator, Carrie Kelleher, and of course my wife Kim each shared three things that make our collaboration work so well.
Here is a quick summary of the what they all had to say:
- Choose to collaborate with people you enjoy working with
- Get great systems in place...but keep them simple
- Make sure communication is organized and clear
- Get on the same page when it comes to the purpose of the collaboration, both each person's part and the greater purpose overall
- Have a regular meeting to get on the same page
- Collect all the non-urgent stuff to review all at once
- Pay attention to working styles and give each person what they need
Question of the Week: What makes your best collaborations work so well?
